Double Authentication
A second login is sometimes required when accessing Java applets within Windchill. In the versions of the Java Plug-In that are support for use with Windchill, users can select a checkbox to remember their passwords on the authentication challenge dialog. If the checkbox is selected, the double-authentication is limited to once per Windows login session. This is independent of the web browser settings.
The ability to save passwords in a user’s browser settings is dependent on your system configuration. For example, using HTTPS requires different authentication than using HTTP.
Since users may be able to select to save their password in settings, your site should inform users as to your security policy recommendations for using features that remember passwords.
