Service Publishing allows you to publish representations of service structures to different versions of InService by setting an appropriate release toggle.

Release toggle is a mechanism that is used to control the visibility of bundle features, depending on the versions of InService that are supported with a Windchill Service Information Manager release. Depending on the versions of InService release that are supported with a particular Windchill Service Information Manager release, you can configure the value of release toggle using the com.ptc.arbortext.windchill.publisher.toggle.release property in the publishing.wt.properties.xconf file. The publishing.wt.properties.xconf file is located at Windchill\codebase\com\ptc\arbortext\windchill\publisher\xconf. The default value of a release toggle, for a Windchill Service Information Manager release, is provided by PTC.

For example, the checksum feature that was introduced in Windchill release 11.1 F000 is supported by InService 7.1 by default. To publish a representation of a service structure to InService 6.5, which does not support the checksum feature, set the value of release toggle to InS6.5. When you set the release toggle to InS6.5, the checksum feature is excluded during the bundle publishing process.
