Insert Existing Service Structure
The Structure tab on the Service Structure Information Page enables you to insert a variety of objects into a service structure. You can add an entire service structure, including its content, to your current service structure to include that hierarchy in the service structure.
Follow these steps to insert an existing information structure into your information structure or an existing publication structure into your publication structure:
1. Open the Structure tab on the information page for the service structure on which you want to insert another structure.
2. In the service structure pane, find the location where you want to add the other structure and click on the object.
3. Click Insert Existing in the Editing action set and choose either Insert Existing Information Structure or Insert Existing Publication Structure from the menu list.
You can also use the shortcut menu by choosing Insert Existing to display the same choices.
The Insert Existing Information Structure or Insert Existing Publication Structure dialog box opens.
4. You can search for an existing information structure or publication structure to add to your service structure.
Search On – Enables you to select the type of content you want to search for.
This is usually Information Structure or Publication Structure. If you have created new subtypes, you can select one of those types in the menu list.
Number – Enables you to search for a structure based on the object number.
If you know the number of the structure for which you want to search, enter it here.
Name – Enables you to search for a structure based on the object name.
You can use wildcard characters to enlarge your search. For more information, see Using Wildcards.
If you are inserting an existing publication structure, choose Context – Specify the context in which you would like to search. Select a context from the menu list. You can use your current context or all contexts.
If you are inserting a publication structure, choose Where to Insert – Specify where you would like the structure inserted relative to the currently selected object in the publication structure. Select a location from the drop-down menu. The following locations are available:
As Last Child – Insert the structure as the last object in the hierarchy of the selected object in the publication structure.
This choice is only available when a publication structure or publication section is selected in the publication structure.
Before – Insert the structure before the object selected in the publication structure.
After – Insert the structure after the object selected in the publication structure.
As First Child – Insert the structure as the first object in the hierarchy of the selected object in the publication structure.
This choice is only available when a publication structure or publication section is selected in the publication structure.
5. After setting the options as desired, click Search.
The table in the window lists the information structures or publication structures found by your search.
6. Select one or more objects in the table and click OK.
Click on an object in the table to select it or CTRL+click to select multiple objects.
The selected structure or structures are inserted into your service structure at the location you specified.
