Service BOM and Source BOM Relationship Overview
A service BOM (sBOM) is a view of one or more source BOMs (typically engineering and manufacturing BOMs) used to represent the service perspective of a product or assembly. An sBOM contains parts that are serviceable, new serviceable parts that are not contained in the source BOM, and serviceable parts that are represented by multiple source BOM parts. Use the Service Product Structure Explorer to create associations with the upstream source BOMs.
The Service Product Structure Explorer operates in a fashion similar to Windchill MPMLink explorers.
