Changing the Location of Files in External Vaults
At times, you may want to change the location of files from one external vault to another. The following procedure describes how to move files from one vaulted folder (for example, /opt/windchill/vaulting/folder-001) to a folder in a different vault (for example, /usr/vaulting/folder-001) without affecting Windchill.
*
If vaulted files are located in automatically create folders, this procedure does not apply.
1. Log on to Windchill as an administrator.
2. Access the External Storage Scheduling window and verify that no revaulting is currently underway or will begin soon. If so, you must cancel in-progress or soon-to-begin revaulting or complete this procedure at another time when revaulting is not occurring.
3. Access the Vault Configuration window, expand Folders in the tree pane, and select the folder that you want to move.
4. In the Vault Configuration window, change the status of the folder that you want to move to read-only.
5. Copy all the files stored inside /opt/windchill/vaulting/folder-001 to /usr/vaulting/folder-001.
6. In the Vault Configuration window, update the mount location of the folder that you want to move from /opt/windchill/vaulting/folder-001 to /usr/vaulting/folder-001.
7. Test the success of the location change by renaming opt/windchill/vaulting/folder-001 and then trying to access the content of a Windchill object stored in the external vault.
8. In the Vault Configuration window, clear the read-only status for the folder that you moved.
9. In the External Storage Scheduling window, restore any revaulting operations you canceled in step 2.
