Other Operations
You can share supplier parts to a project and also subscribe to be notified of changes to AML/AVL.
Sharing a Part to a Project
Manufacturer or vendor parts can be shared to a project. If a user has access to the project, but does not have access to the parts in the AML/AVL, the parts to which access is denied are removed from the AML/AVL.
Adding Manufacturer and Vendor Parts to a Baseline
You can capture a product structure with specific versions of manufacturer and vendor parts specified for OEM parts. You do this by creating a baseline of manufacturer and vendor parts that are listed in the product structure including all related parts of the OEM part.
Subscribing to Changes
You can subscribe to a part and be notified of any events of interest, for example, when an AML/AVL is created or modified. To subscribe, add a new tab and select > > .
|
If changes are made to the AML/AVL while the OEM part is checked out, you are notified of the changes only when the OEM part is checked in.

Exporting Data from Windchill Supplier Management
You can export OEM parts, manufacturer parts, vendor parts, AML/AVL, and any documents to an XML file using the standard Export action from the actions list. The resulting export file contains all relevant information about the part, including relationships between the OEM part and supplier parts, as well as the sourcing context and the sourcing status.
|
If you export attributes that have units of measure, upon export they are listed using International System of Units.
|
Windchill Supplier Management adds the AML/AVL option to the Navigator Ids section of the Export window. This option specifies whether the AML/AVL information is exported with the selected product structure.
Importing AML/AVL Entries
You can import a spreadsheet that creates new entries or modifies existing entries in the AML/AVL. When you import AML/AVL entries, you only add or change relationships between existing OEM parts and supplier parts. For more information, see “Importing AML/AVL Entries” in the Windchill Help Center.

This functionality is only available with the Windchill Supplier Management module.
