Adapting a Part Request Process to the Needs of Your Company
The PR administrator can tailor the part request process to adapt it to the needs of your company. If desired, an administrator can modify the following aspects of the part request process:
Modify the part request workflow
*
If you have modified a default life cycle for OEM parts, make sure that the Complete PR Approval robot of the PR workflow is also modified to set the final state of the resultant part to the value specified in the part life cycle. For example, if the life cycle specifies the final state of the part as Approved, the PR workflow must set the state of the resultant part to Approved, once the part request has completed its workflow and has been approved.
Create a subtype of the part request object
Modify the PR team template or define additional teams
If you create additional team templates or modify the existing team template, you must change the Object Initialization Rules for the part request object. If you do not add new team templates to the Object Initialization Rules, they are not available for selection in the user interface.
Modify or create additional part request life cycle templates
The part request life cycle template is set in the object initialization rules. If you choose to create a different part request life cycle template, make sure it has the required states: Planning as the initial state, and Released and Canceled as end states.

You can create additional product-level or library-level life cycle templates to suite the needs of your organization. Each life cycle template uses its own workflow template.
