Removing Occurrences
There are two reasons for removing occurrences.
If you reduce the quantity on a part to a number that is less than the number that reference designators currently define, a message appears prompting you to switch to occurrence mode and remove occurrences. For example, if a part with a quantity of 3 has reference designators defined for each of its 3 occurrences and you decrease the part quantity to 2, you must select an occurrence to remove.
To remove a reference designator for an occurrence of a part at any time, do one of the following:
Click the remove icon.
Clear the value in the Reference Designator column.
*
This action only clears the name, it does not remove the occurrence.
*
If you are in draft mode or working in an annotation set, you may potentially use the revert icon as well.
