Using the Visualization Panel
Along with standard Creo View actions (such as Orientation, Rendering, and Transform Modes), the Visualization panel of the Tree Picker and the Associative Part Structure Browser can be used to perform the following Windchill MPMLink commands:
*
To open an object in Creo View open its context menu and select Open in Creo View.
Icon
Action
Description
Display Options
Defines the appearance of parts that have been consumed in either the upstream or downstream BOM. For more information see Viewing Consumption Status.
Enable or Disable Consumption Status Rendering
Enables or disables the rendering of the upstream consumption status, as set using Display Options. For more information see Viewing Consumption Status.
*
This option only appears if the following preference has been enabled.
Associativity > Occurrences > Enable Equivalent Occurrences
Associativity > Occurrences > Allow Positioning for Analysis of Equivalent Occurrences
Selection Preferences
Determines whether or not selecting the image of an object expands the object structure and highlights the object in the structure pane, and whether or not selecting an object in the structure pane highlights the same object in the Visualization panel.
Set Path Filters
Setting a path filter allows you to filter the display of large assemblies so that only the sub-assemblies that you are currently working on are displayed. By doing this you can eliminate the need to search through large numbers of parts and assemblies to find the objects you need. This allows you to work with a smaller structure, or to generate clearer Work Instructions.
Selection Assistance
In larger assemblies use this action to quickly navigate to related and parent parts. The following options are available:
Select Parent: Use to quickly select the parent part for which the selected part is assembled under.
Select First Level Assembly: In assemblies with multiple sub-assemblies use this action to navigate to the main assembly, or the first level assembly.
Select Allocatable Parts: For a given assembly, this action is used to select the only allocatable part for that assembly. This action can be used for multiple sub-assemblies as well in situations where the system selects the respective allocatable parts for those sub-assemblies.
Split Usage
Opens the Usage Splitting. Splitting allows you to distribute multiple occurrences of a part to multiple operations.
For the selected occurrences in the tree picker visualization panel, this action creates a new usage link (in the tree structure) with the selected quantity, and decreases existing quantities on the original usage link by the quantity selected. This action is available for multi-select or single select of occurrence paths.
*
When splitting the usage of a part using the Tree Picker the part is automatically checked out.
Allocate to Operation
Use to allocate the selected part to the operation displayed in the Structure tab of the process plan.
Disable Path Filter
This action is used to disable the path filter (from the tree picker structure) which is in effect.
Viewing Consumption Status
The status of parts that have been consumed in either the upstream or downstream BOM can be viewed by configuring the Display Options in the Visualization tab. The following options are available:
Hidden: Removes from the display parts that have been consumed in the equivalent BOM.
As Phantom Parts: Parts that have been consumed in the equivalent BOM are displayed as phantom parts.
In Transparency: Visually changes the appearance of parts that have been consumed, using the defined transparency settings.
Set Transparency Level for Immediate Part Allocations: Defines the visual appearance of the parts that have been consumed. The lower the transparency level the darker these parts appear.
Automatically Zoom to All Parts in the Selected Operation: Highlights and displays the parts that are used during the selected operation.
To update a downstream BOM with information that has changed in the upstream BOM select the Update Status of Consumed Parts check box. Note that this action could take a significant amount of time.
