Equivalence Comparison Report
The equivalence comparison where used report allows you to view a selected part and its parent assemblies, for analysis of discrepancies and inconsistencies. For example, the Equivalence Comparison Report may indicate that a part is over consumed in the downstream BOM, but this report does not detail under which downstream assembly this occurs. The equivalence comparison where used report can be used to further identify where the inconsistency occurs.
This report is divided into three sections;
Section
Description
Upstream BOM
Displays the upstream parts used in the report.
Compare
Compares the quantity of the selected part used in the upstream BOM, and the quantity of its equivalent part used in the downstream BOM.
>: Indicates that the quantity of a part used in the upstream BOM is greater than the quantity of a part used in the downstream BOM.
<: Indicates that the quantity of a part used in the upstream BOM is less than the quantity of a part used in the downstream BOM.
=
: Indicates that the quantity of a part used in the upstream BOM is equal to the quantity of a part used in the downstream BOM.
??
: Indicates that a quantity comparison cannot be done.
Downstream BOM
Displays the downstream parts used in the report.
The attributes that appear in this report are described below:
Attribute
Description
Part
The name of the part. Equivalent parts are displayed on the same line.
Total Qty
The quantity of the selected part used in the BOM.
Assembly
Indicates whether the selected part is an assembly with child parts.
