Variant BOMs are created from your ECAD tool’s BOM data when you create the primary BOM. If you do not wish to create variants at that time, you can edit the BOM definition to skip this step (see Using BOM Definitions).

If you want to change the way variant BOM data is processed, use the Create Variant BOMs hook. (See Using Hooks for information on hooks.)
