Introduction to Interference Detection
Interference Detection and Analysis is a crucial part of the Mechanical design life-cycle for any assembly that enables you to detect which components in an assembly overlap, touch, or are too close to each other and to analyze the results.
There are three types of clashes:
• Interference (Hard)—Parts physically interfere by penetration and volume.
• Contact (Touch)—Parts are in contact but do not interfere.
• Clearance (Soft)—Components with a given distance requirement.
