Resources
A resource is a person, group of people, or tool that is necessary for the completion of a plan activity.
Resources might be physical (plants, work centers, tooling, process materials) or represent a specific skill. Resources are also typically associated with cost, time, or technical restraints. Once a resource is assigned to a plan activity, you can track their work and factor their cost into the plan budget.
The following types of resources are available:
Windchill User
Any individual team member. When a user is added to the project team, a corresponding resource is automatically created for that user.
Other
The Other resource type can represent a person outside your organization or something being used, such as a material, facility, or tool.
Windchill Group
A group of users. For more information about groups, see Windchill Groups.
*
If you are creating a Windchill group resource, and the group includes users who are not part of the project team, a corresponding resource is created for each new member.
Windchill Team Role
A team role representing a group of users. When a new role is added to the project team, a corresponding resource is automatically created to represent that role. For more information, see Roles.
