1. Select the part to be removed in the part structure pane on the left.
2. Confirm your selection in the Confirm window by clicking Yes.
3. The part is removed from the part structure.
*
Removing a part from a part structure does not delete it from the database. It only removes the usage relationship to the parent part.
*
If the part to be removed is connected to a CAD document the system will ask if you would like to make the same change in the CAD document structure.
Edit
The following actions are available in the drop-down menu:
Edit Part – Edit version specific attributes associated to a selected part. For more information, see Editing a Part.
Edit Common Attributes – Edit attributes associated to all versions of a selected part. For more information, see Editing Common Part Attributes.
Edit Usage Attributes – Edit attributes associated to the relationship between parent and child parts in a part structure. For more information, see Editing Usage Attributes.
Rename – Rename all versions of a selected part. System displays the rename window showing the existing part name. Highlight the existing name and type in a new name.
*
Launching the Rename action from the Actions drop-down menu at the top of the part information page displays attribute information about the part that may be changed. This information including Name, Number, and Organization ID.
Move – Transfer all versions of a selected object and related objects to another location. For more information, see About Move.
Auto Create Occurrences – Creates occurrences equal to the quantity of child parts used by a selected assembly part. Occurrences are also created recursively for parts used by sub-assemblies of the selected part.
*
The Auto Create Occurrences action only appears when the Display Auto Create Occurrences action preference is set to Yes. The system requires you to confirm this action before proceeding and displays a message when the occurrences have been created. View the resulting occurrences by clicking the Occurrences tab in the part structure browser. One table row is displayed for each occurrence. The new occurrences are not assigned reference designators.
