Creating and Managing Variants
A process of creating a variant structure from a configurable module (or configurable product) structure is called a part configuration process. A part configuration process allows you to fully define the variant based on the filters and logic associated with that configurable module. With the configuration process, you can:
• Combine list-based selection with advanced selection logic
• Capture all inputs and definitions in the variant specification
• Select any existing matching variant specification or variants for reuse
• Generate a variant structure with the module variants for all configurable components, with part numbers assigned to all parts in the structure
