Configuring Default Target Context For Imported Data
If Windchill Gateway for Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager is being installed as an add-on to an existing Windchill installation, then a context to hold parts and documents imported from Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager can be created and this value entered in the installer.
During a fresh installation, the input can be left empty in the installer. Once the installation is complete, you can create and designate a Windchill context as the default target context for import. Use the xconfmanager utility to set the value of the com.ptc.windchill.gateway.import.defaultContext property in wt.properties to this context. For more information on using the xconfmanager utility, see the Windchill System Administrator's Guide.
Alternatively, the intended context value can be supplied to the installer and a context matching that value created after the installation is complete. Enter the value for the default target context for imported data in the following formats:
Context
Format
Product
/wt.inf.container.OrgContainer=<orgName>/wt.pdmlink.PDMLinkProduct=<productName>
Library
/wt.inf.container.OrgContainer=<orgName>/wt.inf.library.WTLibrary=<libraryName>
If any objects in the import.jar file do not have a context specified, such objects are created in the default target context. If any objects in the import.jar file do not have a context specified and no default target context is specified, the publishing operation fails.
Configuring a Windchill user in Windchill Gateway for Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager is described in the Installing Windchill Gateway on Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager. All Windchill-side operations in a gateway publishing job (including the creation of the job itself) are executed as actions performed by the described user. Such operations are subject to the access permissions rights configured for that user in Windchill.
