About Mounts
A mount is the association between a folder and a host. When you create or update a mount, you specify how a method server running on the host accesses a file storage location relative to a host system. That location is represented by a folder, which is contained within a vault.
In the Vault Configuration window, existing mounts are those for which a path is displayed. When the Show all possible mounts option is selected (which is the default option), the following mount details are also displayed in the table:
• If you select a host, all folders available for mounting to the host.
• If you select a vault, all folder and host combinations possible within the vault. Because vaults are logical (not physical) entities, they are not available for mounting.
• If you select a folder, all hosts on which the folder could be mounted. If the Host Type is Cluster Node, the mounts are created for all hosts having the Host Type of Cluster Node.

Because multiple hosts at a site can be used to form a cluster, all folders must be mounted to all defined hosts for a site. Otherwise, a method server running on a host without a mount is unable to access content files. When a folder is mounted to more than one host, its directory path on all hosts must point to the same location.
Information Tables
Following are the columns that appear in the Mounts tables of the Vault Configuration window for hosts, vaults, and folders. (Not all columns appear in all tables.)

Host
Name of the host.

All folders must be mounted to all defined hosts for a site. Otherwise, a method server running on a host without a mount is not able to access content files.
Host Type
Host Type of the host.
Master Folder, Replica Folder, or Root Folder
The name of the folder.
Vault
The name of the vault.
Seq Number
The sequence number of the folder. Sequence numbers determine the order in which the system searches the vault for a folder in which to store content. When the system searches for a folder, it chooses the folder with the lowest sequence number that allows write access.
Path
The file path of the folder.
Enabled
A plus sign (+) indicates that the host, vault, or folder is enabled. A folder must be enabled before it can be used to store content files.
Read Only
A plus sign (+) indicates that the folder, vault, or both are read-only. (This option is controlled by the Read Only checkbox.) If the folder or vault is read-only, the folder or vault is not available for storing content files when they are uploaded, but content files can be retrieved when a download is requested.
Mount status
Indicates whether the mount has been validated (Valid) or has not been validated yet (Unknown). For details and descriptions of other statuses, see Validating a Mount.
Last Status Update Time
The date that the mount status was last updated.
On the tree in the left side of the Vault Configuration window, you can select a parent node of a host, vault, or folder to view information about multiple items at one time. The information presented for the parent nodes of hosts and folders is very similar to the information presented in the Mounts tables, which is described above. For the parent nodes of vaults, different information is presented:

Name of the vault.
Enabled
A plus sign (+) indicates that the vault in the row is enabled.
Read Only
A plus sign (+) indicates that the vault is read-only.
Cache
A plus sign (+) indicates that the vault is designated as a cache.
Synchronized
A plus sign (+) indicates that the vault and host are synchronized.
Enabled
A plus sign (+) indicates that the folder is enabled. A folder must be enabled before it can be used to store content files.
Last Status
Indicates whether the mount has been validated (Valid) or has not been validated yet (Unknown). For details and descriptions of other statuses, see Validating a Mount.
Last Time
The last date and time that the vault status was updated.
Next Time
The next date and time that the vault status will be updated.
