Configure Database and LDAP
This phase performs the necessary steps required to move the Windchill application from one host to another host system – commonly known as rehosting.
Windchill stores users, groups and application data in LDAP. Special care must be taken when such systems need to be relocated on another host because the data, links and LDAP hostnames are also stored in the database; otherwise, the links between the metadata and the LDAP may be broken.
During this phase, the following tasks are performed to configure a Windchill application server to work with this copied database and LDAP:
1. Updates the search bases of the target configuration JNDI adapters in LDAP to point to the source principals node being upgraded.
2. Updates the database to modify all entries of all the tables that hold LDAP information, referencing the source server hostname with the target server hostname in order to match the target configuration.
3. Copies custom adapters to the target system if any where specified in the Gather Upgrade Properties phase. For more information, see
Additional Adapters.
