Each part usage relationship has the potential for a number of occurrences equal to the quantity. However, occurrences are only created when occurrence specific information, such as the reference designator, is added.
For example, a part may be used 6 times in an assembly but only 3 of the usages have occurrence specific information. The occurrences tab will only display 3 rows, one for each named occurrence.

Occurrences are also be displayed in the part structure pane on the left by selecting Viewing action set in the toolbar. For more information about the Viewing action set, see Viewing Action Set - Parts.

The unique numeric identifier for the part. This attribute may be automatically supplied by a standard part number generator when parts are created in your system.

Name

The text identifier for the part. Does not have to be unique.

An aphanumeric code used to identify individual occurrences of a part used within a product structure.
