The process for creating the CATIA V5 abstraction library has been simplified. By providing an automated environment validation check for CATIA V5 abstraction building and performing a runtime validation check, the time and effort required to investigate issues is reduced.
Additional Details
The abstraction builder now automatically verifies prerequisites, including installation of compatible versions of CATIA V5, CAA, RADE, and Microsoft Visual Studio. Additional verifications take place when CATIA V5 is registered with Windchill Workgroup Manager and when CATIA V5 is run. These checks ensure compatibility between the versions of Windchill Workgroup Manager and CATIA V5 that were used to build the abstraction library, and the ones currently being used. If issues are detected, a message appears with information about what needs to be corrected.
Once the abstraction library has been built, it must be placed in the installation image location so that it is included in client installations. This location has changed from previous releases.
