Several industries have formalized requirements to perform design reviews. The new design review solution in Windchill provides both formal and informal design review processes to improve collaboration, reduce efforts to duplicate data, and provide traceability.

Design reviews can be used in change management and quality processes. Design reviews are required for medical device developers as part of a system of design controls described in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's governing regulations in 21CFR820.
• Using a design review process, you can create design reviews, identify items to be reviewed, and define the reviewers.
• Reviewers receive a workflow task and can add comments on the system.
• When the reviewer completes the task, the system captures the electronic signature of the reviewer, along with other information.
• You can export design review tables to PDF format to print or send as an attachment.
