Windchill Configuration Management: WebGL-based 3D Graphics Viewer Technology in the Visualization Tab
Product: Windchill PDMLink
Release: 11.0 M030
Summary
Visualization tab now supports a WebGL-based default 3D graphics viewer.
Additional Details
Web browsers are moving away from plug-in support. WebGL (Web Graphics Library) is a JavaScript API for rendering interactive 3D computer graphics within any compatible web browser without the use of plug-ins. The client system does not need to have Creo View installed to enable the display of visual representations.
Now, WebGL View replaces Creo View as the default embedded 3D model viewer technology in Visualization tab for users of Firefox, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge browsers. For users of Internet Explorer browser, Creo View is the default embedded 3D model viewer technology.
If you want to revert to using the Creo View plug-in for Firefox ESR 52 (32-bit), set the wvs.visualizationtab.use.plugin.firefox WVS property to true.
The Visualization tab with the WebGL-based 3D graphics viewer has been implemented in the following configuration management applications:
