Benefit
Classification administrators can configure rules to automatically generate classification part names.

An Autonaming Rule tab has been added to the classification node information page:
From here, you can set the following properties:
Autonaming Rule
Enter a rule to use when generating the name for a classified part.
Rule Measurement System
The measurement system to use for converting attribute values when generating the classified part name.
Enforce Autonaming Rule
You can use this field to enable or disable the autonaming rule.
Autonaming rules are inherited. You can disable or modify autonaming properties on child nodes.
When you create a part and specify a node that has an autonaming rule enforced, the following changes appear in the New Part window:
Any text provided in the Name field is removed and replaced with a (Generated) placeholder:
You can allow users to override the generated name using the Override Name profile action introduced in 11.0 F000. For more information, see Windchill PartsLink: Properties and Profiles.
