Automatic Update of Parts List after Changes to Source BOM

You can use a single action to automatically update parts lists associated with a source BOM when that BOM is changed.
Additional Details
The new Update Parts List action is available in these locations for parts lists that have been flagged as Update Required:
• Windchill Service Parts
◦ Context menu in Folders view and the Structure tab of the parts lists’s information page
◦ Actions menu in the Structure tab of the parts list’s information page
• Windchill Service Information Manager
◦ The Parts Lists Requiring Update report, accessed with the > toolbar option for an product’s information structure.
The report provides the action and the option to multi-select parts lists to be updated.
If you invoke the Update Parts List action from the report, the update will continue even if you close the report. A progress bar and confirmation dialog keep you informed of progress.
The Update Parts List action passes all relevant changes made in the BOM to the selected associated parts lists.
• Addition, move, and removal of parts
• Changes to certain part attributes
• Applicability settings (Service Effectivity and ATO) for a part
Manual updates to a parts list are retained when it is updated during an Update Parts List action.
The existing Update Completed (parts list has been manually updated) and Update Not Required (do not update parts list) actions also appear in these locations.
Changes to a BOM’s structure or the service effectivity of its parts (part usage) flag the parts lists associated with the BOM as Update Required.
The existing Parts Lists Requiring Update report has been updated to include these features:
• List of parts lists in the product’s information structure that are marked as Update Required
• Links to parts lists and associated BOM
• Option to multi-select parts lists for update
• Update Parts List
