• The Number Range for BOMs is defined at the part level. Therefore, BOMs can be created through the API that do not fall within the external number range defined.

• All numeric BOM numbers that are less than 18 characters do not need to be padded. There is also no padding necessary for the numbers associated with BOM components and substitutes.

• If parts are published with a BOM (create or change), they must follow the rules associated to the part number range.
