Descriptive Analytics Upgrades
If you plan to install Descriptive Analytics as part of Platform Analytics and you already have a version of Descriptive Analytics installed, from 8.3 or earlier, you must uninstall the previous version of Descriptive Analytics before you can launch the Platform Analytics installer. For information about removing a previous version, see Notes about Upgrading Descriptive Analytics in Upgrade from an Earlier Version.

The manual removal in necessary only when upgrading from an 8.3 or earlier version. When upgrading from 8.4 to a subsequent release, the manual step will not be necessary.
