The Protocol Adapter Subsystem supports Connectors created using the ThingWorx Protocol Adapter Toolkit in the ThingWorx Platform. The Protocol Adapter Toolkit allows developers to configure their custom Connector for a High Availability environment.

You can view the Protocol Adapter Subsystem by logging in to ThingWorx Composer, navigating to SYSTEM > Subsystems and then selecting the Monitoring icon in the left navigation panel. Once the list of Subsystems appears, locate and select the Protocol Adapter Subsystem to view its Performance Metrics.

The Configuration page for this subsystem displays AvailabilitySettings for a Connector when it is configured for high availability. The field (of Base Type NUMBER) is activeProtocolAdapterTimeout, which has a default value of 30.0 seconds. This field sets the number of seconds to wait for an update of the health state for the currently active protocol adapter (i.e., Connector) before assigning the active state to another Connector in the Availability Group.
