Prerequisites for Migrating from Axeda to ThingWorx
Your environment must meet the following prerequisites before you download and extract the Axeda Compatibility Package:
The machine where you plan to run the eMessage Connector is running a supported 64-bit Windows operating system with Cygwin or any Linux, 64-bit operating system.

Although Windows 64-bit operating systems with Cygwin are supported, the eMessage Connector has been tested only on Linux 64 bit operating systems.
ThingWorx Platform, v.8.5.0 or later, must be installed and running. If you plan to use ThingWorx Utilities Core 8.5.0 and the ThingWorx SCM Extension that are included in the Axeda Compatibility Package, you must install v.8.5.0 or later of the ThingWorx Platform. ThingWorx Utilities is only compatible with the same version of ThingWorx Platform.

It is recommended that you use ThingWorx Apps, specifically ThingWorx Asset Advisor instead of the ThingWorx Utilities. Refer to the ThingWorx Apps 8.5 Help Center. to learn how to use Asset Advisor.
If you will install ThingWorx Platform on premise and you have the appropriate authorization (customer number and sales order number, the package is available from the PTC Support site, Software Downloads page for ThingWorx .. For installation instructions for v.8.5,0 and later, go to the ThingWorx 8 Help Center or ThingWorx 9 Help Center. For information about licensing for the ThingWorx Platform, refer to the ThingWorx License Management page on the PTC Support Site.
The eMessage Connector supports Axeda eMessage Agent versions 6.6.3 and later. Axeda eMessage Agents must use TLS 1.1 or TLS 1.2 to be supported by the eMessage Connector.
You must have an application key that is associated with a non-admin user for the eMessage Connector to use when communicating with ThingWorx. For instructions, refer to Create Security Entities in ThingWorx for the Connector.
Create or select the file repository in the ThingWorx Platform that will be used for files uploaded from the agent. Using ThingWorx Composer, you also need to select or create the file repository from which the agents will be downloading files.
The versions of the various components in the Axeda Compatibility Package are provided in the release notes for the package. Refer to the release notes for your version of the Axeda Compatibility Package.
