Additional Configuration of EMS
This section describes how to configure additional options of the EMS.
The config.json.complete and the config.json.documented files provided in the EMS installation contains all possible configuration properties. To allow you to run EMS using config.json.complete, all of the comments have been removed from the file. Instead, config.json.documented is provided as the reference file for configuration information for all of the possible configuration properties for EMS.

Do not attempt to use config.json.documented as is to run your EMS. It is intended as a reference, NOT as a valid JSON file that you can use to run EMS. Instead, use config.json.complete to run EMS, using all of the possible configuration properties.

Some properties in the config.json.complete file have default values that you may not need to change. The rest of this section describes the properties that are used most often.

If you are using the Lua Script Resource (luaScriptResource.exe) to communicate with one or more local devices, you also need a config.lua in the /etc directory. This file tells the Lua process how to initialize and communicate with ThingWorx Platform through the EMS. For more information, refer to Configuring a Lua Script Resource.
