Description
ThingWorx Support
ThingWorx Navigate 1.9.0 supports ThingWorx 8.4.2, Integration Runtime 8.0.4
Installation
ThingWorx Navigate 1.9.0 features a guided setup for installing ThingWorx Navigate on Linux configured to an MSSQL on Windows. Instead of performing several separate installations and configurations manually, you can use the setup tools to guide you through the entire process, from installation through licensing and configuration. As a result, the installation process for MSSQL-Linux is significantly simplified.
File type download definition
Starting with ThingWorx Navigate 1.9.0, you must define allowable file download types in the <installation directory>\ThingworxPlatform\platform-settings.json file. The ThingWorx Navigate installation and upgrade provide a list of common file types. To ensure that only file types that are used in your organization are downloaded, you can add or remove file types from this list.
*
As stated in the Customizing ThingWorx Navigate section of the ThingWorx Navigate 1.8 guide, ptc-windchill-demo-thing (WindchillConnector) is deprecated in favor of customizers using the ODATA Connector and Windchill REST Services in order to execute Info*Engine tasks. ptc-windchill-demo-thing will be supported through ThingWorx Navigate 8.5 but will be removed entirely thereafter. Refer to the ThingWorx Navigate Product Calendar for details.
Known Issues and Limitations
These known issues are new for this release of ThingWorx Navigate:
What are the issues and limitations?
Description
Online license configuration
There is a known issue whereby the ThingWorx Navigate License Setup part of the ThingWorx Navigate installer does not correctly state that the login credentials entered are incorrect when obtaining an online license. If your license appears to not have been updated after attempting online license configuration, please attempt an offline configuration.
File downloads
When attempting to download a file type that is not found in the platform-settings.json file, an error message appears. To allow the file type to be downloaded, add the file MIME type to the supportedMediaEntityContentTypes section of the platform-settings.json file. When done, restart the ThingWorx server.
The known issues below apply to all releases of ThingWorx Navigate:

Description
New installation tools for ThingWorx Navigate
The installation, licensing, and configuration tools have the following known issues:
You cannot run ThingWorx Navigate Setup multiple times on the same machine.
For Linux, the progress bar looks complete even while the installation is in progress.
If you have an expired trial license, you cannot use the ThingWorx Navigate Licensing tool to upgrade to a paid license. Make sure to upgrade your license within 30 days to avoid this problem.
For all configuration types, no validation is performed on your Windchill connection. Enter the connection information carefully.
The configuration log file contains incomplete information about the Windchill version and CPS number. You can obtain this information from Windchill.
This issue is addressed in a future release of ThingWorx Navigate.
Configuring ThingWorx Navigate with multiple Windchill systems
Configuration with multiple Windchill systems has these known issues:
For systems with Single Sign-on, after you create new integration connectors for your multiple Windchill setup, you must restart Apache Tomcat to complete the configuration.
The Download Drawing Bundle task is not supported for this configuration.
WindchillSystem Default filter in ThingWorx Navigate
Issue: There is a known issue with the Windchill saved filter System Default in the ThingWorx Navigate tailoring page.
This issue is addressed in a future release of ThingWorx Navigate.
Current workaround: In Windchill, define a new saved filter that applies the same filtering as System Default. Then, in ThingWorx Navigate, apply your new filter when you tailor the user interface for the roles.
ThingWorx Navigate support for security labels
Although security labels in Windchill are enforced when displaying objects in ThingWorx Navigate, ThingWorx Navigate does not currently support displaying the values of security labels.
This will be supported in a future release.
OData integration connector
Currently, we only support calling Info*Engine tasks from the OData integration connector. For other endpoints, use WindchillSwaggerConnector or ptc-windchill-integration-connector.
Attributes available for display in View Part Structure
The attributes defined on CAD document Usage Link are not available when tailoring View Part Structure.
Design Files and Drawing File Columns
When configured in the Parts List task, Design Files and Drawing File columns are not sortable.
Displaying values in other languages
When using ThingWorx Navigate tasks in some European languages, numeric values are displayed according to the English formatting and not according to the specific locale, for example, a decimal point appears instead of a decimal comma.
Content proxy URL
Content Proxy URL field is case-sensitive. If there are capitalization mistakes, the search fails, and users may get errors reporting that a search was dropped by the content proxy.
Updating Windchill CPS
Any time you apply a Windchill CPS, the Windchill enablement patch is overwritten or lost. Make sure to reapply the enablement patch after every CPS update.
Additional requirements for using the View & Measure in 3D Task with Windchill 11.0
The View & Measure in 3D task uses the Creo View plugin and agent.
With Windchill 11.0, you can only use this task with these browser versions:
Google Chrome 57 or later
Mozilla Firefox 52 ESR or later
Internet Explorer 11 or later
