ViewSet Types and Locations
To administer ViewSets, it is important to understand the types of ViewSets and where they are located.
There are three types of ViewSet: personal, unpublished, and published. A ViewSet changes type based on the operation performed in the ViewSets view. The following table describes each type of ViewSet:
Type
Location
Description
Personal
Integrity Lifecycle Manager client
ViewSets stored on (and available to) the Integrity Lifecycle Manager Client installed on the same machine a Integrity Lifecycle Manager administration client you are viewing the ViewSets view from.
Personal ViewSets are only displayed in the ViewSets view for the purpose of converting to unpublished ViewSets.
Unpublished
Integrity Lifecycle Manager administration client
ViewSets modified through the Integrity Lifecycle Manager Client for the purpose of publishing to the Integrity Lifecycle Manager server. These ViewSets have not yet been published (or have not been published since they were last fetched or edited).
Created when a personal ViewSet is edited or copied from the ViewSets view. Also created when a published ViewSet is edited, copied, or fetched.
*
Unpublished ViewSets are stored locally on your Integrity Lifecycle Manager administration client machine. Until the ViewSets are published to the Integrity Lifecycle Manager server, like any other locally stored data they are subject to local system failure.
Published
Integrity Lifecycle Manager server
ViewSets that have already been published to the Integrity Lifecycle Manager server, and are available to specified users.
