Oracle SQL*Net provides encryption for the communications channel between the Integrity Lifecycle Manager server and the Oracle database.

Oracle SQL*Net encryption is a subcomponent of the Oracle Advanced Security option in Oracle Database 11g R2 and Oracle Database 12c Enterprise Edition. You must configure Oracle Database to enable support for SQL*Net encryption.

Note that enabling SQL encryption or data integrity checking in Oracle SQL*Net affects system performance. For more information, see the Integrity Lifecycle Manager Performance Tuning Guide.

You must set up this configuration after installing the Integrity Lifecycle Manager server. For that reason, the Integrity Lifecycle Manager server installer cannot connect to the Oracle database using SQL*Net encryption.
