To allow for flexibility beyond the pattern matching specification, the client command also inspects the member for a member attribute defining an overriding setting that is to be used for that member. If present, this setting overrides all other preferences or specifications (that is, Sandbox or pattern-matching). This also acts to control behavior on an arbitrary set of files that cannot be specified with a single pattern.
