To connect to an Integrity Lifecycle Manager server
1. Select File > Server Connection > Connect. The Specify Server Connection dialog box displays.

If your preferences are not set to prompt a server connection, the Specify Server Connection dialog box does not appear.
2. In the Host Name field, type the name of the Integrity Lifecycle Manager server you want to connect to.
3. In the Port Number field, type the port number.
4. To accept the server information, click OK. The Enter Credentials dialog box displays.
5. In the User Name field, type your user name. Your user name displays by default in the User Name field.
6. In the Password field, type your password.
7. To accept the user information, click OK. A connection with the server is established.

Once you connect to another server, you can open a new window for configuring permissions, Workflows and Documents, and Configuration Management on that server. To open a new window, select Tools > Administration.
Upon restarting the Integrity Lifecycle Manager administration client, view settings are automatically restored and you are prompted to connect to the server or servers used during the previous session.
To verify your connection, select File > Server Connection. If you are connected, your user name, server name, and port number appear in the Server Connection menu.

In the Server Connection menu, the active connection displays with a bullet next to the connection information. If the bullet does not appear, you are not connected to the server.
In the lower right corner of the Integrity Lifecycle Manager administration client, the following three icons indicate the status of the server:

Connected to the Integrity Lifecycle Manager server.
You are logged in and have an active client session.
Not connected to the Integrity Lifecycle Manager server.
You have logged out and closed your client session.
Not connected to the Integrity Lifecycle Manager server.
The connection to the Integrity Lifecycle Manager server has been dropped or the network connection is down. You may be required to manually reload the view and log in again.
