Identifying Existing Duplicates in the Integrity Lifecycle Manager Database
You can also use duplicate detection to identify and clean up existing duplicate entries within your Integrity Lifecycle Manager database. The search functionality allows for identification of similar items of a given type.
By supporting item management and sorting activities, duplicate detection can reduce costs associated with managing duplicate items within the database.
For example, Defect item 31415 has a summary statement of “Component XYZ logic module does not complete loop process”. You can search the Integrity Lifecycle Manager database for other Defect items that have a similar statement. To run the search, you highlight Defect item 31415, and then select Item > View Potential Duplicates. Integrity Lifecycle Manager searches for all existing Defect items that contain a similar summary statement. If duplicates are found, they are listed in the Potential Duplicates View. You can then review the list and manage the true duplicates according to your workflow process.
