Before You Start the Integrity Lifecycle Manager Client
Before you start the Integrity Lifecycle Manager client, ensure you have the following:
the name and port number of the Integrity Lifecycle Manager server you want to connect to
a copy of the Integrity Lifecycle Manager client installed locally on your computer
your user name and password
*
Your administrator provides you with a server name, port number, user name, and password.
Key Considerations
You do not need to install the Integrity Lifecycle Manager client to access the Integrity Lifecycle Manager Web interface.
Before starting, ensure you have the following (if not, contact your administrator):
Integrity Lifecycle Manager client installed locally on your computer so you can access Integrity Lifecycle Manager in the graphical user interface
a Web browser, such as Mozilla, Firefox, or Internet Explorer, to use theIntegrity Lifecycle Manager Web interface
the name of the Integrity Lifecycle Manager server host name and port number you want to connect to
your Integrity Lifecycle Manager user name and password
login permission assigned to you
If you are using the GUI and there are no ViewSets open from the previous Integrity Lifecycle Manager session or this is your first time starting the Integrity Lifecycle Manager client GUI, you are prompted to import a ViewSet.
A sub directory ptc-integrity-source that has source related temporary files is created inside a temporary directory (identified by system property java.io.tmpdir). When the client crashes, the contents of the ptc-integrity-source directory are retained. When the Client restarts, the ptc-integrity-source directory is renamed to ptc-integrity-source-deleted.<random_identifier> and deleted.
*
The source related temporary files that are not cleaned up by the older client (10.9 and earlier) are available in the temporary directory and should be cleaned up manually.
