MEASURE_DIST interrupt action

MEASURE_DIST calculates the distance between two points. Both points may be either 2D or 3D, but not mixed (one point 2D the other 3D). The distance can be projected onto different 2D and 3D axes.

If the system is being used interactively, the value is displayed in the MEASURE Output Field. By using OK the values can be used without retyping. The value is also written into the system inquiry array (see INQ).

During the measure operations, the RULER_FOLLOW function is switched off.

Options

The action has no options.

When to use

Use this action to measure between any two 2D or 3D coordinates.

Example

The following parameter sequence measures a specified distance.

MEASURE_DIST :BETWEEN_POINTS [specify from point] [specify to point]

The distance between the two points is displayed in the Distance Output field.
