SheetMetal lip side-face angle adjustment

Overview

"Rectangular Side Face" allows to easily correct a non rectangular sheet side face to become rectangular to the main sheet surface in addition the the command "Orthogonal Side Face Cutting".

Activation

Enter into command line

   (load "sha_ui_rect_sideface") 

Or add this line to your customization file.

Loading this file will create a button in the toolbox.

Description

It is recommented to use the command "Orthogonal Side Face Cutting" in the "Modify Sheet" section to correct non rectangular side faces. This goody is just provided for cases where the proper command should not be suitable.

"Rect Side" (rectangular side face) allows to easily correct a non rectangular sheet side face to become rectangular to the main sheet surface (restriction: for straight edges only). The selected edge stays unchanged.

Lip Edge: Select the edge which should remain unchanged when the lip-side-face at this edge is made rectangular.

Restrictions

• works on linear edges only
• the side-face must be a 4 edge face - that means: it must NOT be the side-face for neighbour bend(s) and if possible further lips too. Because the command turns the whole face (not only the section at the selected edge), the result of such a operation is probably wrong.
  A workaround in such a case could be the imprint of edges (Machine/Imprint Edges/Line) on the lip-side-face to make it a 4 edge bounded face. The following "Rect Side" command should work, as long as no topological changes on neighbour faces are necessary.
