Substitute a version of a part/assembly with another

Overview

This small utility allows 1 version of a part/assy to be substituted with another.

Activation

Enter into command line

   (load "sub_ver") 

Or add this line to your customization file.

Loading this file will create a button "Substitute Version" in the toolbox.

Description

This utility provides the ability to replace 1 version of a part/assembly with another. Either on a instance by instance, replacing the contents or simply replacing all versions with the one the users whiches to keep.

The dialog takes a source part/assembly, a destination part/assembly and a type. The source will remain after the operation but the destination will be replace.

• If the substitute type is "Instance" then only the selected instance of the destination item will be substituted with the source item.
• If the substitute type is "Contents" then the selected instance of the destination item will be substituted with the source item and all of its shares.
• If the substitute type is "All Versions" then the selected instance of the destination item will be substituted with the source item, along with all of its shares and all other versions too.
