The coordinate system is defined by 3 parameters: Origin, Normal, and U Dir. Normal defines the ejection direction of the mold. U Dir defines the length direction of the mold. Using the origin the opening plane is fixed with respect to the normal direction. The origin is the center in the plane between the mobile and the static side of the mold. The colors of the coordinate system feedback refer to the following directions: normal, u dir - the length direction and the width direction.
You can either specify a user mold or give a new name for a mold assembly
which is then created in the mold creation dialog.
In the last part of the dialog your select the parts that belong to the form
the mold base is created for. It is important that you select
all the parts. We suggest that you order all parts in
assemblies. You can then select assemblies and the module will take all
parts into account during the calculation process.
The module ignores parts which are not under the ownership of the top mold
assembly during calculation. During ejector creation, only those parts that
were specified during the initialization step are used to calculate ejector
length.
The Mold Base module uses the size of the selected parts in the setup step in combination with the plate rules to suggest the size for a mold in the mold creation dialog.
This section is only of interest if you are using Design Data Management or Model Manager to store your data.
Components created with Mold Base are stored in the Library 3D class in
the Design Data Management/Model Manager system. These components are marked
as read only. They are stored in the database only once, thus saving disk
space. Components are created from scratch every time they are added to the
mold. These components will be replaced by those stored within the database
later. This means that any geometry reference to components that are not yet
stored in the database, will be lost after the data has been stored to the
database. References can be attached to parts which are loaded from the
database without any problems. The critical time frame is only between
creation and loading the data again.
To handle everything correctly, please store your data, delete everything in
CoCreate Modeling and load the data again. After that the components stored
in the database will be loaded and you can make any attachment you wish.
