About View States
View states are different views associated with a structure. You can use them to display the structure with the appearance and settings of your choice. View states can be published from the source files, or you can create them in Creo View, or both. You can open one or more view states, and you can apply a new view state to the current model view. When you apply a new view state while using the Design Check tool, your tags and tag notes are preserved.
View states appear on the Viewables pane of the primary panel, under Model.
A view state is a model view with one or more of these properties set:
Appearance
Layer states—Publishes layers as selected in source files
Simplified Representations—A representation of a model from which selected components were excluded when published
