Setting Options on the Basic Tab
Use the Basic tab to define these general parameters.
Required Entities—Defines the general parameters used to determine which source CAD entities are converted.
Output Options—Determines the form of the adapter output and the Creo View viewable format version to output.
Advanced Options—Determines the advanced output format options.
Descriptions of the Basic tab options appear in the tables below. Selecting the check box next to the item enables the function; clearing the check box disables the function. The adapters for which each option is relevant are listed for each entity.

Description
Output Source
Creo Parametric
NX
SolidWorks
Creates a ZIP archive of the source CAD data, named <sourcename>.pvo in the output folder. Used by the Windchill CAD Package Synchronization function.
*
Do not use this option to capture source content, because the resulting file is also then retrieved by the WVS Worker Agent and added to the representation content.
See also Advanced > Paths tab
Output Structure
All except Thumbnail Generator
Creates PVS, ED, or VDI structure files, depending on the Creo View output version.
Output Author States
Creo Parametric
JT
NX
VRML
Creates XML PVA author state files based on saved view states in the authoring application.
Output Drawings
All except
GBF
JT
PDF
STEP
STL
Thumbnail Generator
VRML
Creates drawing viewables e.g. PDF, PLT, or DXF format files.
Output Geometry
All except PDF
Creates 3D geometry viewables, e.g. OL and BGF geometry files.
Creo View
All
Defines the target Creo View output version format to use when outputting the structure (PVS or ED) file and 3D geometry viewables (OL).
Also sets the minimum release of the Windchill server or Creo View client in which you will use the files.
The Windchill server release(Client/Server Version) selected when configuring the adapter determines the default value of the Creo View output version.
See the “Supported Features of Creo View Adapter for Creo by Version” table below for the following parameters:
The minimum output version for features.
The Client/Server Version that corresponds to each Creo View value.
Output Thumbnail
All except Thumbnail Generator
Creates 2D and 3D thumbnail files (JPG and PVT formats respectively). This setting is only required for command-line and interactive publishing modes. For server-controlled publishing mode, thumbnails are generated by default.
Output PVZ
All except Thumbnail Generator
Sets the command-line output format to PVZ. Enabled from PView 9.0 and later. When selected, ASCII options are not available.

Description
Output Sub-Components
Creo Parametric
DGN
NX
SolidWorks
STEP
Converts subcomponent information into the generated structure files.
Output Links
Creo Parametric
Creates a structure file (PVS, ED, or VDI) for each assembly, subassembly, and part, and adds a branch link to the parent structure for each structure file.
If the check box is cleared, the adapter creates a single structure file for the entire assembly.
Do not select this feature for server-controlled publishing with Windchill.
Output Single Shape File
All
Creates a single geometry file (OL or BGF) for an assembly.
Output Text As Lines
Creo Parametric
When unchecked (default), screen-space and planar notes are rendered as text (TTF), similar to Creo Parametric.
When checked, screen-space and planar notes are rendered as lines (facets) using either the Creo View Adapters or Creo Parametric tessellators.
Double Precision Geometry
All
Creates 3D geometry files (OL and PVS) with double precision format. See About Double Precision Memory Format for more details.
Output Tessellated Datum Plane
Creo Parametric
IGES
NX
STEP
Thumbnail Generator
Creates all datum planes in 3D geometry files (OL and BGF) with a semitransparent tessellation.
Output ASCII
All
Outputs the selected files (PVS or OL) files in ASCII format for customized adapter implementations.
This option is not supported by Creo View or Windchill Visualization Services (WVS), neither of which are able to read ASCII format files.
Output Compressed
All except
GBF
JT
PDF
STEP
STL
Thumbnail Generator
VRML
Converts the selected drawing viewable file formats CGM, DWG, and HPGL as GZIP compressed files.
*
Available file formats differ among adapters.  If a file format is not applicable to your adapter type, it will appear dimmed on the screen.
Changing the default settings may prevent Creo View from viewing the altered file format.
Render Faces As
All
Defines how the faces of the 3D geometry files will be converted.
Default converts all faces as they are defined in the CAD system.
Single converts all quilt faces as solids, resulting in single-sided geometry.
Double converts all solid faces as quilts, resulting in double-sided geometry.
You have defined which entities to include in the output, and the form and properties of the adapter output. Save the settings before you proceed to the next tab.
