Introduction to dwf2pv
The Creo View Adapter for DWF converts 2D and 3D DWF and DWFX CAD data to the format used by the Creo View client. Design Web Format (DWF) is a secure file format developed by Autodesk for the efficient distribution and communication of rich design data to anyone who needs to view, review, or print design files. The conversion process is called publishing. Before you can publish DWF CAD data, you must configure the Creo View Adapter for DWF using the dwf2pv_config tool. See Using dwf2pv_config for further information.
There are two ways to publish CAD data:
Command line publishing. This method is described in Command Line Publishing for DWF.
Server controlled publishing—The adapter runs without direct user intervention in the background as needed. This method is described in Server Controlled Publishing for DWF.

After a conversion is completed, the Creo View MCAD Adapter places the files into a specified directory from which you can access and view them using the Creo View client.
The recipe configuration provides the administrator with complete control of the conversion process. See Introduction to Recipe Editing for Converting CAD Data for an overview of the recipe concept.
