Using ccdraft2pv_config
The configuration of the Creo View Adapter for Creo Elements/Direct Drafting is accomplished using the ccdraft2pv_config tool.
1. Using Windows Explorer, browse to the <installation_directory>\bin directory in which you installed the Creo View Adapter for Creo Elements/Direct Drafting. Double-click ccdraft2pv_config.
The CoCreate Drafting Adapter Configuration dialog box opens, as shown next.
2. If you have a prior configuration, you can use the Existing Configuration group to update it to the latest version of the Creo View Adapter for Creo Elements/Direct Drafting. Use the Setup Directory field in this group to specify the location of the previous configuration.
*
When you browse to an existing setup directory, the required fields are filled automatically. Click Setup to automatically update to the latest version.
*
To test the new configuration before overwriting the existing version, change the Setup Directory location in the Parameters group. This saves the new configuration in a different location, preserving the existing version instead of overwriting it. Then, if you choose not to use the new configuration, you can return to the Existing Configuration Setup Directory, which acts as a backup. When you are satisfied that the new version is working in your location, you can overwrite the old version with the new one.
3. Use the Parameters group settings in the CoCreate Drafting Adapter Configuration dialog box to specify configuration settings for the adapter. This allows you to specify the way your system locates and starts Creo Elements/Direct Drafting for publishing purposes. The Parameters group includes these fields:
Client/Server Version
In the Client/Server Version drop-down list, you specify the client/server version number. This version should match your Creo View client server, Visualization server, or both. Setting the version incorrectly can cause problems with your Creo View client serve, Visualization server, or both.
Setup Directory
To specify the setup directory, you can use the folder icon to the right of the Setup Directory field in the CoCreate Drafting Adapter Configuration dialog box. This displays the Select a Setup Directory dialog box, shown below. Browse to a <setup_directory> location, or you can type the path in the Directory field.
Click OK after selecting the setup directory. You are returned to the CoCreate Drafting Adapter Configuration dialog box to make further configuration selections.
4. Select the correct CEDD version from the drop-down list.
5. Use the Components group settings in the CoCreate Drafting Adapter Configuration dialog box to define the publishing components to configure and the way your system locates the Visualization server host and port. The Components group box includes these fields:
a. Create ccmodelbatch
Enable this setting to run Creo Elements/Direct Drafting in batch mode from the command line to convert batch of files to Creo View viewables.
b. Create ccmodelworker
Creates a startup script that is used by the Windchill Visualization Service to start the adapter in worker mode to publish Creo View viewables as part of the Windchill publishing process. To do this, the adapter need to know details of the Windchill server.
c. Server Host
Enter the host name of the Windchill server.
d. Server Port
Enter the port to be used to communicate with the Worker Agent on the Windchill server. The default port number is 5600.
e. Test Server
After you specify the server host and port, you can click the Test Server button to validate the machine name, port number, and worker availability, and verify that it can connect to the Worker Agent at that location. A Server Configuration Test window displays the following results:
Worker Type
Server
Port
Test Connection to Server—Opens the Server Configuration Test dialog box. If the test result shows Succeeded or Failed, and the resulting message commences with Set keepalive ok, then click Ok to continue the setup.
6. If you have installed the Windchill Workgroup Manager, use the group settings in the CoCreate Drafting Adapter Configuration dialog box for support for file synchronization in the Windchill Workgroup Manager. Select the Enable WWGM file synchronization support check box to highlight the Install Directory and File Sync DLL fields.
*
It is recommended that Windchill Workgroup Manager is installed so the you can perform this step. However, if this is your initial setup then configure file synchronization at a later stage.
a. Install Directory
Set this field to your Workgroup Manager client installation directory. Your installation point may be different; use the folder icon to the right of the Install Directory field to locate the correct path for your installation, for example C:\PTC\wgm.
b. File Sync DLL
The file synchronization DLL file is installed during the Workgroup Manager installation process. This field is preset to the default file synchronization DLL for Inventor. You can accept the default, or use the folder icon to the right of the File Sync DLL field to locate the required aiadapter_loader.dll file.
*
When running the config tool on a 64-bit Windows platform, this field will be set to the 64-bit Windows DLL. If you are using a 32-bit version of Inventor, this field must be changed to the 32-bit version in the i486nt/obj subdirectory in the Workgroup Manager.
If you enter an incorrect path in the File Sync DLL field, the system displays an error and the Setup button will not be enabled.
