To Create a Rigid Link
You can create a simple rigid link that connects points, vertices, edges, curves, or surfaces so that the entities move together as if part of a single rigid body.
1. Click
Refine Model >
Rigid Link. The
Rigid Link Definition dialog box opens.
2. Specify a name for the rigid link, or accept the default name. Click the color swatch adjacent to
Name if you want to
change the color of the icon, the distribution, and the text displayed for the rigid link.
The Type list shows the rigid link as Simple by default .
3. Select one or more points, vertices, curves or edges, or surfaces that you want to connect. The collector in the References area displays your selections. You can select entities of more than one type. If you have selected the entities before opening the Rigid Link Definition dialog box, your selections appear in the References collector when you open the dialog box.
4. If you want to define a rigid link with reference to a free point, you must select the point and at least one other entity on your model.
5. Click
OK to complete the definition.
Creo Simulate places
rigid link icons on the selected entities.
| A simple rigid link acts in all directions. You cannot control the degrees of freedom of the link. To specify the independent and dependent sides in a rigid link you must create an advanced rigid link. |
