About Saving a Copy of a Design
When you save a copy of the design, you can save it as a template, as a packed design, or as a regular design.
Template design—Saves the design as a *.rsdt file to use as a template for creating additional designs. A template design can include global parameters, design templates, and a link to a central catalog.
Packed design—Saves the design as a *.rsd file. The size of the design is reduced, but it contains all the files in a design. A packed file is used to archive or share the design.
Creo Schematics design—Saves a copy of the design with a new name.
In a multi user environment it is recommended to create a new design using a template and not using a copy of an existing design.
