Overview of Flexible Modeling (FMX) in Sheet Metal Parts
The Creo Flexible Modeling environment and tools are available and optimized for Sheetmetal part design.

There is a Flexible Modeling tab available when working with sheet metal parts. This gives you more flexibility to change sheet metal parts on the fly, independent of how the part was created, even if it was imported from another CAD system.
Important aspects of the Flexible Modeling environment in the Sheetmetal application are listed below:
The same selection and direct modification tools that are available when working with parts are available, but with additional awareness of sheet metal such as keeping a constant wall thickness.
Performing geometry-based selection using shapes and applying rules with the Geometry Search tool.
Using Flexible Modeling tools such as Move, Offset, Substitute, Remove, Modify Analytic, Flexible Pattern, Mirror, and Attach.
Recognizing objects such as Round, Chamfer, and Pattern.
As a result, you can easily make direct modification such as changing the height or angle for walls or modifying side surfaces. Geometry such as holes, forms, or side surfaces, can easily be removed. Forms can be simply moved or copied.
In addition to the standard Flexible Modeling direct modeling tools used when working with parts, there are additional sheet–metal–specific modification tools for the recognition and modification of sheet–metal–specific design aspects. Tools such as Pull Wall, Edit Bend, Edit Bend Relief, Edit Corner Relief, and Edit Corner Seam provide a powerful recognition and modification capability to change a selected design aspect, independent of how the part was created. The recognition of sheet metal design objects in one step is supported by recognition tools analyzing the geometry of the 3D model for type-specific characteristics. Flexible Modeling in Sheetmetal Design gives you the flexibility to change sheet metal parts in easy and intuitive ways, independent of how the part was created. This is true even if the part was imported from another CAD system.
