What's New: Creo Parametric 4.0 > Manufacturing (Additive Manufacturing–3D Printing, Subtractive Manufacturing–Creo NC) > Printability Validation
Printability Validation
You can identify printability issues before printing.
User Interface Location: Click File > Print > Prepare for 3D Printing > Printability Validation.
Release: Creo Parametric 4.0
Benefits and Description
You can watch a video that demonstrates this capability.
Printability validation is a Creo Parametric–style analysis which can be featured, saved, and repeated, all within the Tray Assembly. Before initiating a 3D printing process, you can check your CAD model for printability issues to make sure it will print correctly. When you perform printability validation, the list of parts with printability issues, grouped by types, is displayed. The list includes printability issues found within parts, but not between parts. The following types of printability warnings are listed:
Narrow gaps—Gaps that are too small to be printed. This list might include holes, extrusions, and other geometries.
Thin walls—Walls that might break during the 3D printing process, or during the removal of the support material.
