What's New: Creo Parametric 4.0 > Assembly Design > Automatic Representation

Automatic Representation
Minimum data is retrieved in an Automatic representation
Release: Creo Parametric 4.0
Benefits and Description
You can watch a video that demonstrates this capability.
In an Automatic representation the minimum required data is retrieved for presenting the assembly in the most accurate way. The system determines what data is required based on your actions. Use this representation type to retrieve your assembly as fast as possible. Only assembly components included in the representation are retrieved in an Automatic representation, all other excluded components remain excluded. Simplified Representation types created prior to Creo Parametric 4.0 are obsolete. However, you can control the presence of simplified representations from Creo Parametric 3.0 and earlier using the configuration option hide_pre_creo4_reps. The values for this configuration option are described below:
yes—Hides all simplified representations created in Creo Parametric 3.0 and earlier, except for Exclude simplified representations. When you open an assembly, the assembly opens by default as an Automatic representation.
no—Maintains all simplified representations for Creo 3.0 and earlier.
maintain_master—(Default) Hides all simplified representations for Creo 3.0 and earlier, except for Master and Exclude simplified representations.
