Support for Fully Semantic References for Datum Targets in Model-Based Definition
Specifying the datum references in a datum target is faster.
User Interface Location: Click Annotate > Datum Target.
Release: Creo Parametric 4.0
Benefits and Description
You can watch a video that demonstrates this capability.
Datum target annotations support semantic references to geometry in the model as well as references to datum feature symbol annotations. Click References to open the References dialog box where you can manage the semantic references to model geometry. The leader attachment reference is added automatically, but you can also select additional references to model surfaces.
Specifying the datum references in a datum target is faster and easier. If the datum feature symbol to be referenced exists in the model, you can select it by clicking the icon for selecting the datum reference from the model. The datum reference is then automatically provided and a number is added after the datum label. You can also type the datum label and number into the field. If the datum feature symbol exists, a connection is then established between the datum feature symbol and the datum target. Datum references with a connection to an existing datum feature symbol appear as green text on the Datum Target tab. If the datum feature symbol does not exist in the model, the datum reference field is populated with plain text. This allows you to create datum target annotations without first having to create a datum feature symbol. Datum references specified as plain text and with no connection to an existing datum feature symbol appear as black text.
